چکیده
Despite decades of study, the significance free radicals' function in organ damage remains questionable and is still a significant problem diagnosis many diseases. Therefore, goal current investigation was to determine whether Corchorus olitorius leaves could reduce oxidative stress caused by potassium bromate (KBrO3). Twenty-four rats were put into groups A, B, C, D. Group A received distilled water as control. Animals C D additionally given 100 200 mg/kg body weight C. olitorius, respectively, addition KBrO3 on daily basis for 28 days. The animals sacrificed while being gently sedated with diethyl ether blood, heart, liver, kidneys collected. results showed that decreased plasma, hepatic, renal, cardiac CAT, SOD, GPx activities well GSH concentrations, but raised MDA levels, compared control group. Rats extract from at doses weight, dose comparable those observed These treatments resulted increases antioxidant levels (except GPx) decrease their plasma tissues. study increased enzymes leading stress. This effect attenuated Olitorius demonstrating its protective KBrO3-induced stress.\

Attenuation of Oxidative Stress by Tamoxifen in the Heart of Ovarectomized Rats with Experimentally Induced Hyperthyroidism
Background: Postmenopausal estrogen deficiency increases the incidence of cardiovascular diseases. Although hormone replacement therapy can reduce cardiovascular risk, it is associated with an increased cancer risk. Selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERM), like tamoxifen and related compounds, have mixed estrogen agonistic/antagonistic effects. Tamoxifen may confer significant cardiovascu...

The experiment was conducted during May to December 2008 in the Biotechnology Laboratory of Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh to observe the callus induction, regeneration potentiality and to establish a suitable in vitro plantlet regeneration protocol of Corchorus olitorius. MS medium supplemented with different phytohormone concentrations and combinations were used to observe the...

BACKGROUND AND AIM Corchorus olitorius is a medicinal plant traditionally utilized as an antifertility, anti-convulsive, and purgative agent. This study aimed to evaluate the gastroprotective effect of an ethanolic extract of C. olitorius against ethanol-induced gastric ulcers in adult Sprague Dawley rats. METHODS The rats were divided into seven groups according to their pretreatment: an unt...
